Description

A JAPANESE TOKYO SCHOOL BRONZE OKIMONO BY GENRYUSAI SEIYA
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Realistically modelled as a young woman at work, holding a basket of seeds which she empties into a large sack before her. The base signed Seiya chu for Genryusai Seiya. Seiya was a sculptor renowned for his portrayal of animals but he was also adept at very realistic okimonos of people.
A charming Taisho Fine Art collectors' piece.
Condition. Excellent with no damages or other issues from a private English collection.
Carriage and insurance is included on most items within UK and Mainland Europe. There may be exceptions such as bulky, heavy objects or framed pictures. Elsewhere please inquire about carriage costs.
