Delightful Miniature Trinket box, probably used for incense in the Meiji period, 1868 - 1912. Decorated by hand, the top depicts a landscape scene with a pavilion, mountains, a river flowing through and trees. Fine gold brush work is extended to the rim and around the top of the base. Fine gold and coloured flowers in three groups around the circumference. Inside the lid and the base are three tiny butterflies. The whole sits on the gold bracket feet. Fine and delicate painting result in this exquisite item. Signed to base.
Condition. Excellent. No wear to the gold work. Faultless.
