Meiji period mixed metal case, maybe for spectacles. On one side an old man with a staff out walking with a young boy. A crane flies overhead and there is an inscription to one side. On the reverse, a crane is feeding in a pool surrounded by water plants, including reeds and lotus. There is another inscription on this side.
The boxwood netsuke features the 12 animals of the zodiac all finely carved in detail. The netsuke is approx 4 cms diameter.
The case is 15.5 cms long and 6.5 cms wide.
Condition: Slight signs of age, no scratches or dents, generally good. The tassel is a later replacement.
Carriage and insurance is included on most items within UK and Mainland Europe. There may be exceptions such as bulky, heavy objects or framed pictures. Elsewhere please inquire about carriage costs.
